While fire equipment is designed to operate in extreme situations, it still requires servicing. ASG is formally trained to complete this work.
Fire Equipment Testing
Most work places have firefighting equipment in place to help in an emergency situation. This equipment is designed to operate in extreme situations. However, like all equipment, it is only as reliable as its servicing. This is true of fire blankets as well as extinguishers and smoke detectors. So if you want your workplace to be as safe as possible and your equipment to do its job properly, then you will need to ensure it is properly serviced and maintained.
While electrical testing of switches and switchboards and the test and tagging of portable electrical equipment minimises the risk of fire, the regular servicing of fire protection equipment ensures that firefighting responses are able to be effective.
Testing Procedures
Our formally qualified electricians and technicians can test your fire extinguishers and fire blankets to Australian Standard AS 1851 (Sections 10 and 11) as well as review your signage and surrounding area to ensure it meets the Standards.
We are also experienced in servicing hose reels and hydrants in accordance with AS 1851 (Sections 9 and 4) and independent smoke detectors.
The testing frequency for these items aligns with other routing testing required on a site and as such, Asset Support Group is well placed and trained to conduct all your necessary portable fire equipment testing at the same time as other electrical testing. This minimises your site disruption and makes planning and record keeping significantly easier.
Asset Support Group does not conduct testing on sprinklers, fire panels or smoke alarms connected to systems.
